MA Govenor Wants the Death Penalty
12.29.04 (10:20 am)   [edit]

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" title="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" target="_blank"http://www.foxnews.com/story/...,2933,142794,00.html

He said that this is carefully worded so that innocent people are not put to death. It would use DNA evidence to prevent that.

Also, the crimes that warrent the death penalty are: acts of terrorism, murder of police officers, murder of witnesses, and murder resulting from torture.

Now, I am kind of divided on this issue. First, it would use DNA evidence to prevent the wrongfully accused from death, which is good. We don't need to put innocents to death because of a mistake. Second, you can never eliminate human error. The govenor wants to remove "reasonable doubt" and replace it with "no doubt", which, I believe, will eliminate people from seeing the needle (or what ever they want to use if it passes).

Well, that is enough for me for now. Have a Happy New Year, stay safe, and may God bless you.

And those are my thoughts, now for yours.

Merry Christmas...
12.22.04 (10:10 am)   [edit]

and a Happy New Year. If you don't hear from me for a while, it is because I am celebrating Christmas with my family, as well as working on a Geometry project. It has something to do with altitudes, triangles, perpendicular bisectors, blah, blah, blah.

Well, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The Establishment Clause
12.19.04 (3:37 pm)   [edit]

Here is a link that I found to the US Constitution (the entire text)http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_76156900 8_4/Constitution_of_the_U nited_States.html#s78" title="http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_76156900 8_4/Constitution_of_the_U nited_States.html#s78" target="_blank"http://encarta.msn.com/encycl..., but I want to focus on the Establishment Clause. I bolded the clause.

Quote:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Basically, it states that Congress cannot pass any law establishing or endorsing any one religion. Now, an arguement can be made about the Pledge of Alliegance, but I don't want to go into that right now. I want to talk about the assault on Christianity by those on the secular left, mainly the ACLU. They want anything that has to do with Christ or Christianity to disappear. In CT, a group of Athiests are up in arms over a small Nativity scene near a town building. Now, why all the fuss over this? I could care less if you are religious in any way or not, as long as you don't try to force it down my throat, but that is beside the point. The point is, that town building is not endorsing any religion what so ever. It is mainly a tradition that Nativity scenes are put up around Christmas, the day Jesus was born.

So, basically, this rant is just to clarify the establishment clause in the United State's Constitution.

And those are my thoughts, now for yours.

Anti-War vs. Anti-Troop (for lack of a better term)
12.17.04 (1:39 pm)   [edit]

You know, I don't care if you are for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as long as you do not badmouth our troops by calling them baby-killers, war criminals, etc. You can be anti-war and still support our troops overseas. Hell, you can be marching up and down the streets of D.C., holding signs like "Hell No, I Won't Go" or "No Blood for Oil" and I can care less about it. But, once you hold signs calling our soldiers the above mentioned, then that is where I draw the line.

Our brave men and women are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, believing that what they are doing is just. Thanks to our military, we have freed almost 50 million people in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and all that we ask is nothing in return. But, there are some on the far left that have slammed everything that our men and women did, as well as our President. Dennis Kusenich, former Democratic challenger for the White House, wrote an essay called "How Can We Justify This?", in which he wrote the following:

"We did not authorize the bombing of civilians in Afghanistan. We did not authorize assassination squads."

Note: Found this at Conservative Eyes here: http://conservativeeyes.blogspot.com/" title="http://conservativeeyes.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"http://conservativeeyes.blogs...

Now, this kind of rhetoric is not only unjustified, but also dangerous for the morale of our troops overseas. This is the kind of mind boogling crap that makes the far left seem like the mainstream Democrats, but that is for another post.

To end, whether you agree with the wars or not, all I ask from you is that you support our troops overseas, not badmouth them.

And those are my thoughts, now for yours.

Unexpected Q&A for Rummy
12.08.04 (2:41 pm)   [edit]

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" title="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" target="_blank"http://www.foxnews.com/story/...,2933,140858,00.html

In a rare public airing of grievances, disgruntled soldiers complained to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld on Wednesday about long deployments and a lack of armored vehicles and other equipment.

Well, I bet Rummy did not see that coming, and it seemed like it did. Kinda surprising that soldiers spoke out like that. Those soldiers will not be punished, I bet. But, I believe that there will be some liberal nuts who will try to use this event to their advantage.

And those are my thoughts, now for yours.

If you like music videos with military weaponry and such, this is the place for them. This is where the "Taliban Bodies" first came to be, and now there are multiple videos in there. And they are free to download. If you have the time, take a look.

US Consolate Attacked in Saudi Arabia
12.06.04 (1:08 pm)   [edit]

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" title="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" target="_blank"http://www.foxnews.com/story/...,2933,140574,00.html

Eight people were killed and eleven were injured during a gunbattle at the U.S. consulate in Jiddah Monday after Islamic terrorists hurled explosives at the gate of the heavily guarded compound, then forced their way into the main building.

There have been conflicting reports early during this that there was some hostages, but no details about it. If the terrorists did somehow manage to get into the building and take hostages, I can almost guarantee you that Delta Force would be doing their mock run throughs of the rescue, using blueprints of the compound (provided that there are any and that they're up to date), build a mock up of the compound for practice, and be ready to go there if necessary. Of course, by that time, the Saudi security forces would have stormed the compound, killing all the terrorists and, unfortunatly, some of the hostages as well. Thank God that the murderers did not get into the actual building.

And those are my thoughts, now for yours.
