The Sheehan Story
08.12.05 (8:20 am)   [edit]

By now, about everyone has heard about the story of Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son, Casey, in Iraq in April 2004, and her vigil in front of the President's ranch in Crawford, TX, asking for (another) meeting with the President, even thought she had a meetin with him and gave high praise to him. But now there is a change in her tune. The liberal media is lapping his up like Winne the Pooh eating honey.

She claims the the President lied to the American public over the reasons for going in and liberating Iraq. The only lie that I see is the stuff coming out from the left (cooking up the intel, forcing analysts to makeup stuff, etc.).

The most disgusting thing about this is that she is using (or abusing, depending on your views) her son's memory for political gain. Even her own family has come out adgainst her vigil. (http://www.drudgereport.com/flashcs.htm" title="http://www.drudgereport.com/flashcs.htm" target="_blank"http://www.drudgereport.com/f...)

While I feel for her loss, and I don't blame her for being upset about her son's death, it is disingenuious to Casey's memory to use it to attack the President. (Casey willingly reenlisted to stay in Iraq.)

After a while, the media will go after another anti-Bush story and Cindy will all but be forgotten.

Detroit Primary Results
08.03.05 (2:59 pm)   [edit]

You can find them here: http://web.wxyz.com/vote2005/primaryresul ts-detroitmayor.html" title="http://web.wxyz.com/vote2005/primaryresul ts-detroitmayor.html" target="_blank"http://web.wxyz.com/vote2005/... (WXYZ.com)

Challenger Freman Hendrix and incumbent Kwame Kilpatrick move on to the November ballot. Sharon McPhail's running mate, Benny Napoleon, has reportedly thrown his support behind Hendrix. Mayor Kilpatrick has to focus on the issues and bring attention to the accomplishes that he has done to the city of Detriot, while Hendrix has to hammer Kilpatrick on the controversies of his administration, but also give his solutions to the problems of Detroit. But, Kilpatrick is not alone in controversies: Hendrix appears to have some baggage of his own: http://wxyz.com/wxyz/ys_investigation s/article/0" title="http://wxyz.com/wxyz/ys_investigation s/article/0" target="_blank"http://wxyz.com/wxyz/ys_inves...,2132,WXYZ_15949_3974977, 00.html (WXYZ.com)

His may take some of the light off of Kilpatrick's scrutiny, but it also may not. We will just have to see.

On This Day
08.01.05 (3:11 pm)   [edit]

On this day on August 1st, 1989, my younger brother was born three years after me. He is 16 years old and has no intrest in politics whatsoever.

Just thought I put that out there.

President Exercises Constitution; Liberals Angry
08.01.05 (9:02 am)   [edit]

Via: Blogs4Bush (http://www.blogsforbush.com/mt/archives/004988.html" title="http://www.blogsforbush.com/mt/archives/004988.html" target="_blank"http://www.blogsforbush.com/m...), FOXNews (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" title="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0" target="_blank"http://www.foxnews.com/story/...,2933,164357,00.html)

From FOXNews: "This post is too important to leave vacant any longer, especially during a war and a vital debate about U.N. reform. So today I've used my constitutional authority to appoint John Bolton to serve as America's ambassador to the United Nations," Bush said.

The liberals are in a foaming rage over this constitutional solution to an unconstitutional problem (filibusters). For months, the post of US ambassador to the UN has been left vacant, with the liberals preventing an up-or-down vote on President Bush's nomination to the UN. While the liberals want more documents about John Bolton's work as the Undersecretary of State, what they really want is to oppose everything Bush does while he remains in the White House for the next 4 years or so.

Americans are getting fed up with the obstruction that is taking place in both Houses of Congress. Bush did the right thing to use his constitutional powers to send Bolton to the UN to help straighten out the crooks and liars there.
